Shirley’s educational and professional experience, coupled with her passion for real estate, are the perfect combination for buyers or sellers to employ in their property search and deal-making process.
Shirley has been honored twice as “Broker of the Year” in the Tribeca office - a distinction given for having highest sales volume. She has successfully negotiated deals in many of Manhattan’s most exclusive condominiums and cooperatives on behalf of clientele demanding strength in service, loyalty, and experience. Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, Shirley was a founding partner of “Uncommon Properties,” a residential marketing firm specializing in notable high-end properties. Her interest and passion for real estate began years before when she worked with an international law firm on real estate partnerships and development. Shirley loves the “art of matching the client to the right property” and navigating the intricacies of negotiating and deal making.” She is known for her tenacity and her colleagues have said she makes the most “difficult” deals work for clients.
Shirley possesses a fluent understanding of the residential market: from new developments to townhouses in Tribeca and the Upper East Side, to a penthouse on Central Park West or a Fifth Avenue townhouse. She represented the owners of The Duke-Semans Mansion, the prestigious Beaux-Arts masterpiece on Fifth Avenue. This landmark property sold for $40 million in 2006 and resold in 2010 for $44 million and was featured on the front page of The New York Times, Fortune.com, CNN, Haute Living, International Herald Tribune and a variety of other international publications.
