Scott believes that his sincerity, sense of humor, maturity, and genuine interest help to make his clients feel at ease talking about their lives, finances, and goals regarding their next homes. He is able to understand their needs quickly and is not afraid to ask questions. Most of Scott’s professional experiences come from when he held senior operations positions in various restaurant chains and franchises. He has taken bits and pieces of all his experiences from his dealings with peers, employees, and clients and customers to assist him in his approach toward listening, solving problems, and detail awareness. Scott has vast experiences to draw upon yet he is always open to new approaches and ideas in this diverse city. He joined Brown Harris Stevens after 10 years as a hybrid real estate agent with Citi Habitats working with rental and sales clients in the city, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
Scott is a decorated Vietnam War veteran having served in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator for 5 years after graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a BS in Business Management. During his tour of duty in the US Navy, Scott was in charge of the Aviation electronics shop and performed as the Electronic Warfare Officer as well while based in San Diego and on cruise on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Ranger based out of San Francisco.
After separating from the Navy, Scott returned to the restaurant business where he had worked alongside his father all through high school and college. Restaurant operations management became his specialty and he worked for national and regional chain restaurants which ultimately brought him to New York City in 1981. Here, Scott became Senior VP of Operations of the legendary Beefsteak Charlie’s Steak House chain, managing over 50 restaurants, four regional managers, and several hundred employees at one point. Scott has worked in all facets of the restaurant business having opened many restaurants, developed new concepts, been an operating partner in four Dunkin Donuts, and has traveled all over the country representing manufacturers’ food products for wholesale and retail sales and distribution.
Ever the sports fan, Scott is from Boston, Massachusetts and has played and enjoys all sports having played on a semi-professional level as a pitcher and was scouted by three major league teams before joining the US Navy. Scott enjoys traveling regularly to India with his wife Sandhya.
Scott and his wife make their home in Riverdale, the “Jewel of the Bronx.”
