Owen and his husband have owned homes in Columbia County since 1998, including a Hudson townhouse and an early farmhouse and working apple orchard which was featured in The New York Times, Monacelli's "Gardens of the Hudson Valley", and other publications. Owen's interests range from architecture to interior and landscape design, and he has long been committed to regional preservation efforts, with a particular focus on Frederic Church's Olana.
