With over a decade of real estate experience, Charles McDonald’s discrete approach, diligent work ethic, and unwavering dedication is a testament to his passion for real estate and ensuring that his clients receive this highest level of service. Drawn to Brown Harris Stevens’ deep-seated legacy within the real estate industry and its proven track record of success, Charles joined BHS in 2024 alongside top producer Lisa Simonsen.
Beginning his career in real estate at a boutique brokerage as an undergraduate, Charles had an immediate intrigue for the industry and not long after closed his first sale of an Upper West Side Cooperative within just two months. His early success was fueled by a lifelong passion for real estate, architecture, and historic properties.
From previous operations roles within a corporate brokerage and New Development marketing, to working with one of the top 10 teams within luxury real estate, Charles has a well-honed expertise that he brings to each transaction. These varied experiences have given him a breadth of knowledge that goes beyond typical sales experience, allowing him to develop a well-rounded skill set and mastery of the inner workings of brokerage operations.
For the past five years, he has headed operations for the nationally ranked Simonsen Team, co-listing deals and managing all team transactions. With a personal client base made up largely of first-time buyers and referrals, he has built a reputation for discretion, dedication, and an ability to navigate complex co-op board processes. His lifetime sales now exceed $350M, with much of his business coming from repeat clients and personal referrals.
A long-time resident of New York City, he currently lives on the Upper East Side after having spent a decade living in various neighborhoods, including the three villages, Chelsea, Beekman Place, and Sutton Place. His deep familiarity with these areas adds an invaluable layer of local knowledge to his already impressive real estate credentials. Charles was educated at the Manlius Pebble Hill School, Colgate University, and The New School University. In his free time, Charles enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and is an avid reader.
