A true native New Yorker, Byron was born and raised on the Upper East Side, graduated from Trinity School and Columbia Law School, and raised two children here. He is intimately familiar with New York’s cultural, educational, and social institutions having served on the boards of, among others, the School of American Ballet, the New York City Sports Commission, and the Greater New York Councils of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of YPO, and has been a long-time member of several of the city’s venerable private athletic and social clubs, as well as prestigious clubs in Southampton, Florida, the Bahamas, and Europe.
Byron earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Tufts University, where he was Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team; and his J.D. degree at Columbia, where he was an International Fellow and President of the Columbia Society of International Law. He has lived, studied, and worked in Paris and Milan and is fluent in French and Greek and has a basic understanding of Italian.
