Byron Hero is a licensed associate broker who brings a unique blend of legal, financial, and executive management knowledge and skills to Brown Harris Stevens. His experience as a corporate attorney, private equity investor, and corporate CEO, coupled with his passion for real estate, architecture, and design, give him a singular and highly informed perspective when guiding clients through the complex challenges of buying, selling, and renting real estate in New York.

He is esteemed for his discretion, recognizing the importance of his clients’ privacy, the sanctity of their personal financial information, and the confidentiality of their real estate intentions and business dealings. His extensive network of legal, corporate, and social relationships often provides valuable insight to complex deals and contacts that may expedite difficult negotiations.

A true native New Yorker, Byron was born and raised on the Upper East Side, graduated from Trinity School and Columbia Law School, and raised two children here. He is intimately familiar with New York’s cultural, educational, and social institutions having served on the boards of, among others, the School of American Ballet, the New York City Sports Commission, and the Greater New York Councils of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of YPO, and has been a long-time member of several of the city’s venerable private athletic and social clubs, as well as prestigious clubs in Southampton, Florida, the Bahamas, and Europe.

Byron earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Tufts University, where he was Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team; and his J.D. degree at Columbia, where he was an International Fellow and President of the Columbia Society of International Law. He has lived, studied, and worked in Paris and Milan and is fluent in French and Greek and has a basic understanding of Italian.
