As a real estate agent, my career is typically focused on listings and negotiations. But a surprising aspect of my life—my involvement with a local charity—has brought me a new perspective and purpose. Recently, I had the privilege of selling a home for Kaisa, the founder of Operation Santa, a charity she started in 2004 dedicated to fulfilling Christmas wishes for children at one of the Bronx’s most underserved schools, P.S. 55.
Over ten years ago, I joined Operation Santa, inspired by Kaisa’s passion for helping children in need. Every November, we gather to pick letters written by children, filled with humble requests for toys, winter coats, and basic necessities.
My family and I select letters, shop for the requested items, and join the numerous families wrapping and delivering the gifts. Kaisa's journey began when she was inspired by a book, Love, Santa, and, despite facing personal challenges, she committed herself to making the holidays brighter for these children. Through her annual Operation Santa gatherings, this initiative grew rapidly, now reaching 450 students and providing Thanksgiving turkeys for families in need.
My involvement has shown me that true fulfillment is found not only in professional success but in the joy of giving back. This holiday season, consider joining us in making a difference. For details on how to get involved, email Kaisa at [email protected].
