The holiday season is a time for generosity, and New York City offers countless opportunities to give back. From coat drives by New York Cares to gift collections hosted by local charities like Union Settlement and the Salvation Army, there’s a way for everyone to make a difference. Whether donating a warm coat, a new toy, or volunteering your time, these efforts bring warmth and joy to neighbors in need across the five boroughs.

Gift-Giving Donations

United Way of New York City

Their Holiday Gift Drive supports students in partner schools and community organizations, focusing on children from low-income households. Donations of unwrapped gifts, such as toys, books, and educational items, are collected until December 8.
