Acclaimed jewelry and accessories brand Alexis Bittar has made quite an impact on the world of fashion, with countless celebrities donning the Brooklyn-based brand's bold designs on red carpets and magazine covers. Alexis Bittar's new, cinema vérité-style mockumentary series—featuring the characters Margeaux, an Upper East Side Socialite, and her oppressed personal assistant "Jules" (real name, Hazel)—has taken social media by storm, with its comedic, short-form videos cleverly promoting the brand's products in a way that blends filmography, fashion, and satire.
The series stars renowned actress Patricia Black; NYC nightlife icons Julie J, Amanda Lepore, and Connie Fleming; and Brown Harris Stevens' own Mike Lubin.
“I’ve always been interested in exploring facets of the NYC community we don’t often get to see—the “others” if you will. For this particular series, I wanted Margeaux to represent the prototypical, Upper East Side socialite. Mike Lubin’s listing at 812 Fifth Avenue worked perfectly as her home, with its stunning views of Central Park and overall ambiance.” - Alexis Bittar
Lubin, a longtime friend of Bittar, plays Margeaux's husband in the series. Their home, a stately Upper East Side co-op, is currently on the market.
For Lubin, this was a thrilling opportunity to blend his passion for real estate with his creative marketing and entertainment background.
"Working with my pal Alexis Bittar showcasing two of our gorgeous properties was a dream come true. His incredible work and inspiring personal story make him a true New York icon. Now being cast as MR MARGEAUX, portrayed by the legendary Patricia Black? That is beyond a dream come true…it’s a fantasy." - Mike Lubin, Brown Harris Stevens Broker
Throughout the series, we follow Margeaux and "Jules" as they traverse through Manhattan shopping, running errands, and attending parties.
“I’ve been friends with Mike for years and he was a pleasure to work with. He really dove in and managed to embody the role of Margeaux’s husband perfectly.” - Alexis Bittar
Brown Harris Stevens Agent Marsi Gardiner was also on set for filming. You may notice her in the background of the video below! “I had such a lovely experience seeing Mike, Alexis, and the cast do these shoots," she said.
“What I love about this campaign is that it pays tribute to classic, upper Manhattan culture while spotlighting the talented people who make this city so great. Getting to star in it has been a true honor!” - Julie J
