Brown Harris Stevens made a remarkable showing at the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) Charity and Awards Celebration Wednesday night, earning three prestigious awards. The event, which hosted approximately 350 industry leaders, recognized excellence in residential brokerage and provided support to members in need.

The firm secured the First Place Residential Sales Deal of the Year Award, the Second Place Residential Sales Deal of the Year Award, and the Henry Forster Memorial Award, underscoring its reputation for exceptional service and impactful transactions.

About the Award Winners:

First Place Residential Sales Deal of the Year Award – Paul Devlin, West Side Office

Paul Devlin’s winning transaction began with a retired nurse on a fixed income seeking to downsize after 45 years in her Kips Bay co-op. Despite market challenges, stringent board requirements, and the need to sell her current apartment first, Paul’s unwavering dedication over 14 months led to a successful sale. His persistence enabled the client to move into a newly refurbished, more affordable studio, significantly reducing her housing costs.

Second Place Residential Sales Deal of the Year Award – Maryann Johnson (West Side), Anthony-Michael Alexander (Harlem), and Sarah Buff (West Side)

The second-place team faced a uniquely challenging transaction that began after the unexpected passing of a fellow agent during an open house. Representing clients with six figures in unpaid maintenance and navigating profound personal tragedies, the team spent seven years working through housing court, pandemic-related delays, and complex legal issues. Their compassion and determination ultimately brought closure and renewal to all parties involved.

Henry Forster Memorial Award – Douglas Williford, EVP, Managing Director of Sales, West Side

The Henry Forster Memorial Award was presented to Douglas Williford for his exceptional contributions to the real estate industry and the community. With over a decade of experience in sales and rentals, Doug has become a pillar of New York City’s brokerage landscape. His background in financial services and acting has bolstered his mentorship and communication skills, allowing him to guide agents effectively and shape the industry.

An active REBNY member, Doug is also committed to charitable efforts, leaving a lasting legacy of integrity and passion for his work.

“Congratulations to all of our talented agents and executives who were recognized for their extraordinary efforts,” said Brown Harris Stevens CEO Bess Freedman. “Their perseverance, expertise, and compassion truly exemplify the values we uphold as a firm.”
