The Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton PhD

Synopsis: Using illustrations, everyday examples, and humor, Bruce H. Lipton explores the science of Epigenetics and how it revolutionizes our understanding of the link that exists between mind and matter, and its effects on the personal and collective life of human beings.

"It explores the impact of our thoughts on our body, our surroundings and hence, on our fate. It explores the absence of matter needed to interconnect things, and how vibrations and quantum physics are the source behind all changes in the universe. Great read.

I’d recommend it to those who believe that their possibilities are bound by their genetics and their current state of being, and to those who want to explore the immense power of their own minds. I always enjoy reading at night, in bed, close to falling asleep. I believe those last bits of information trigger your dreams and allow for that fresh material to make proper connections while saved during your sleeping time." - Brown Harris Stevens Managing Director for Miami Beach Sebastian Vallejo

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

Synopsis: Set in the early 1960s, the book follows the life of chemist-turned-cooking show star Elizabeth Zott, and how she navigates a male-dominated world along with its challenges.

"I chose this book based on the fact that Apple TV was making a series about it and wanted to read it before watching the show. As a thriller and true crime reader, I wasn’t sure I would like it but this book definitely did not disappoint. The story will appeal to a range of readers as it’s about living a life that you didn’t expect to have and how rewarding that could be." - Brown Harris Stevens Agent Pia Sague

My Name is Barbra by Barbra Streisand

Synopsis: This autobiographical memoir by Barbra Streisand explores her iconic career in music, film, and stage, providing an intimate look into her life experiences.

"I am an ardent fan [of Streisand] and therefore, looked forward to her autobiography, "My Name is Barbra." The book is 970 pages, but I chose to listen to it. Barbra narrates it herself, which made it much more interesting and real. It was as if Barbra and I were sitting around as she told me her life story in detail, sometimes in minute detail.

By listening to her instead of reading, one could hear the nuance and emotions coming through. Something that can't be ascertained by reading. Most of the time, I listened to it while relaxing on my balcony or by the pool. It is a fascinating and intimate look (at least to me) into her life." - Brown Harris Stevens Graphic Designer Tina Kaplan

Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano

Synopsis: This novel chronicles the lives of four Chicago-based sisters and one of their suitors, in a dramatic novel that spans four decades and explores the themes of family, love, and betrayal.

"I chose it because the story focused on the dynamics of a large family full of girls – similar to my own – and the journey that they all go through. It’s wonderful, inspiring and complex and I’ve truly enjoyed it.

The main character immediately captures you and you are immediately immersed in a tale of love, commitment, mental health struggles and the impact of being the only male in a female-dominated family. I highly recommend it.

I began reading this book while on a recent vacation and I couldn’t put it down." - Brown Harris Stevens Miami Regional Director of Marketing Rochelle Fraga
