While a traditional white Christmas is unlikely for Miami, there are other time-honored favorites that take center stage. With the subtle change in temperature, it’s time to go outdoors! Here are some of our favorites, compiled by members of Brown Harris Stevens' Miami offices.
Outdoor events in Miami are endless, including Zoo Miami’s annual Zoo Lights, which features over one million tree lights, an interactive animal show, arts and crafts, plus a visit from Santa and the Grinch.
If you don’t mind braving the crowds, then head to the world’s largest holiday theme park: Santa’s Enchanted Forest, which features hundreds of rides, shows, lights and attractions.
If a peaceful, more traditional holiday event is what you’re looking for, consider a serene walk through the lush Deering Estate Grounds for their annual Historical Holiday Evening Stroll. Not to go unmissed, a fan favorite has always been visiting the beautiful Adrienne Arsht Theatre to preview the Miami City Ballet’s rendition of “The Nutcracker” or enjoy an evening of seasonal favorites at the Sounds of the Season show, presented by the New World Symphony. The festive concert is a favorite for all age groups.
For the kids (or kids at heart), visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for their most popular event of the year: Polar Express Holiday Train event. Or, frolic in a winter wonderland at the Merrick Holiday Park in front of Coral Gables City Hall, to enjoy rides and holiday-inspired backdrops.
Although no Miami locals will be "dashing through the snow" anytime soon, the holiday season in Miami offers so much more. A time for fun, togetherness and a chance to share these special times with your loved ones. We wish you all the merriest of holidays this year.
