She became an early homeowner by convincing her artist neighbors that investing in the community was a wise decision.
As the daughter of an army surgeon settling in for the first time in her life, home meant something profound to her. Her commitment to help build the foundation for her fledgling community came naturally. Marcia dedicated herself in many ways, including serving on the initial planning board for Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBPLDC) as state congresswoman Joan Millman’s representative. Because she recognized the distinctive characteristics of the neighborhood, she initiated and saw to completion ten years later the landmarking process of DUMBO. Marcia also sat on the land use committee for Community Board 2 to shepherd zoning changes that would replace the outdated industrial with mixed-use residential zoning. Marcia brings to the table exceptional artistry, commitment, care to the process of buying and selling a home.
