With over two decades of experience in developing, selling, and renting high-end properties throughout the Hamptons, JB brings to the table, unparallel expertise in high-end new construction, land and investment opportunities.Originally from Brazil, JB moved to the USA in 1990 with his wife, Neide. Together, they have two children; Manuela (Columbia University) and Samantha (Emory University). Prior to entering the real estate profession, JB worked for VASP (Brazilian Airline) for close to ten years as a Flight Controller Technician. During his tenure, he taught the airline system to new employees while traveling around Brazil. Later, JB was recruited by Brastrade, a Brazilian Trading Company, and worked at this position for close to five years. While at Brastrade, JB was part of a team that set up offices in Epson, (England), Taipei (Taiwan), Leipzig (Germany), and Moscow. Their operation included coffee roasting factories with canning and selling of cold coffee drinks via vending machines throughout Asia, including Russia. JB was also part of a team that set up a joint-venture with the Brazilian, Japanese, and Russian governments to plant and cultivate vineyards in the Brazilian semi-desert part of Pernambuco State.
JB has a Bachelor's degree in Filmmaking and a Master's degree in 3D Animation, special effects, and image compositing. Both degrees are from New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan. He has been a recipient of an award for Excellence in Filmmaking, and among many projects has worked on a documentary celebrating the 100th anniversary of the x-ray machine for the Bennett Company and produced and hosted a show called Brazil Video Music Extravaganza.
JB is an active member of the community volunteering many hours and participating in various groups. Presently, he is a member of the East Hampton/Sag Harbor Citizens Advisory Committee to the Town Board, an oyster farmer, member of the litter committee, a performer in East Hampton with a cabaret group, financial secretary for a not-for-profit organization, founding member of WOW (Words of Wisdom), former member of the East Hampton Budget Advisory Committee, former volunteer firefighter, and former volunteer at Southampton Nursing Home.
Throughout his life, JB has never settled for the word "NO!" His undivided attention, understanding of the client's needs and top negotiating skills are just some of the assets he brings into the transaction.
He is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and enjoys playing tennis, soccer, reading, running, gardening, black and white photography, and oil painting. Above all, he enjoys spending time with his family.
