Proudly raised on "Planet Brooklyn," Doug has worked full time in real estate since 2012. Doug's dedication to his clients and his disciplined approach to the practice of real estate are just two reasons why his team has had great success. Earlier this year Doug secured his real estate license in Georgia. Dual licensure in Georgia and New York helps him better assist clients doing business in both states.
Prior to entering real estate sales Doug worked as the Vice President of Government & Community Relations at the New York City Economic Development Corporation during the Bloomberg Administration. As a master networker collaborating with various constituencies across New York City - politicians, local community leaders and residents - the experience helped Doug understand the value of Listening. "Everyone has a perspective. Everyone wants to be heard. Everyone wants their needs to be met." That skill is the single most paramount element of Doug's interactions with all of his clients. "My first contact with a client is the beginning of our relationship. There is no end - these are connections to last a lifetime." The commitment to that philosophy has helped Doug expertly navigate diverse real estate transactions, from working with co-op boards to successful representation of commercial tenants and everything in-between.
Doug attended Morehouse College for undergraduate school and received his graduate degree from Columbia University. He currently resides in Bed-Stuy, where he is a homeowner and landlord. He serves on the Board of Managers of the Bedford - Stuyvesant YMCA and is also a board member of the Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union, which has a branch office in the neighborhood. Doug is an avid reader and doting pet-parent to a lovable, floppy-eared German Shepherd mixed breed dog, Baldwin. Besides real estate, Doug's other great love is writing. He recently finished a novel that he hopes to publish one day. And, yes, the wonderful world of real estate with all of its various characters figures quite prominently in the story line!
