Licensed since 1994, Deborah brings decades of experience, leadership, and industry expertise to the Northern New Jersey real estate market. A native of Mobile, Alabama, she has lived in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and New York City before settling in Montclair, NJ, to raise her family. Her diverse experiences have given her a deep appreciation for different communities and a unique perspective on the home-buying and selling process.
Before embarking on her real estate career, Deborah had extensive experience in higher education. She last served as Dean and instructor at a northern NJ college from 1978 to 1994. While on sabbatical from her position as Dean of Continuing Education to pursue a postgraduate degree, she decided-on a whim-to obtain her real estate license, a decision that quickly turned into a thriving career.
She began her real estate journey with Burgdorff ERA in 1994, where she made an immediate impact. Within just six months, her extraordinary success led the company to create a new award in her honor the Comet Award recognizing her record-breaking achievements as a first-year agent. From 1995 to 2004, she was a consistent Circle of Excellence award winner, proving her dedication and expertise year after year.
In 2004, she earned her broker license and transitioned into leadership as the Broker-Manager of RE/MAX Village Square and Vice President of its parent company, overseeing 5 offices with 100+ agents. Her leadership and commitment to excellence were recognized in 2009 when she was named Broker/Manager of the Year for RE/MAX New Jersey. With a career spanning both sales and management, Deborah has a unique ability to guide clients and agents with knowledge, strategy, and a passion for real estate. Now, as she returns to sales, she looks forward to helping friends, family, and clients achieve their real estate dreams with the same enthusiasm and expertise that have defined her career.
