While Manhattan may be home to New York City's most publicized parks and gardens, situated just north of the island's tip is a waterfront oasis known for its lush foliage, verdant gardens and greenhouses, and breathtaking views.

Located in the Northwest Bronx, the Wave Hill Public Garden is one of the city's best-kept secrets. Encompassing 28 acres of expertly maintained gardens and woodland overlooking the Hudson River, it is a unique and idyllic escape from the city's streets. During fall in particular, the gardens come to life as the leaves change, creating vibrant and colorful vistas reminiscent of upstate.

The picturesque gardens are within a mile of the Brown Harris Stevens Riverdale Office, overseen by EVP and Managing Director of Sales Sandy Wilson. For fall, Wilson recommends a special event at the gardens worth exploring: “Fall Foliage: Accessible Views from the Garden.

The event runs November 4-5. Beginning at the Perkins Visitor Center, visitors can embark on an informative and relaxing nature walk led by Wave Hill Senior Horticulturalist Jess Brey.

"The walk will showcase the grandeur of fall foliage in Riverdale, making for a memorable and photo-worthy experience. Be sure to mark your calendars, as this will be a treat for the entire family!" — Sandy Wilson
