"Growing up in a Cuban household, Cuban coffee was a constant presence in my life. From the rich aroma filling the house in the morning to the midday pick-me-up, coffee was more than just a drink—it was a part of our daily rhythm. I learned how to make Cuban espresso, or as we call it, “Cortadito" from my grandmother. Now, when I meet clients, my go-to spot is Our Grounds in Kendall. I love enjoying a double-shot latte with skim milk there—it’s almost as good as homemade. But what makes this place special isn’t just the coffee. Our Grounds is a family-owned, non-profit coffee shop dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and cognitive disabilities. By choosing to have my coffee there, I feel like I’m doing a little something to give back to the community while enjoying my favorite beverage."

"One of my favorite coffees for National Coffee Day blog is the Cuban "Cafecito".  The cuban expresso coffee from "La Ventanita" at Versailles.  The restaurant is a Miami landmark and knows how to serve up a simple Miami staple just right."

Matthew Huston

"My go-to coffee drink is not coffee! I drink something called Juice Plus+ Luminate which, amongst other plant-based ingredients, is made from the Coffee Berry (the fruit where coffee beans come from). It’s got about 80mg of caffeine so I still get the little boost and less than 2g of sugar. I’ll often mix up one of these on with some water for a refreshing drink that also gives me a little energy boost when I’m on my way to meet a client. It’s a nice little guilt-free coffee drink that isn’t your traditional coffee."

"We host a free coffee event at Bistro by the Beach in Fort Lauderdale and will be hosting a special edition on National Coffee Day. The event started as a simple idea for Tom to meet my Fort Lauderdale neighbors after moving here from Manhattan in 2020. Coffee is a great way to spur conversation and connection. The events now have a tremendous following and has helped Tom to build relationships in the community and become known as a trusted real estate resource."
