Arthur Miller’s powerful drama, Death of a Salesman, is arguably the greatest play of the 20th Century.
It first premiered on Broadway in 1949 at the Morosco Theatre and has since been revived five times, with countless Tony nominations and six wins.
Now in its final week of a strictly limited engagement, the most recent adaptation tells the story of Willy and Linda Loman, but from the perspective of an African American family.
Olivier Award nominee Wendell Pierce stars as Willy Loman, a working class salesman struggling to achieve the American Dream. Olivier Award winner and 2022 Tony Award nominee Sharon D Clarke stars as Willy’s wife, Linda.
The compelling story dissects the powerful themes of denial, power, order versus disorder, and family which ultimately build to unravel the Lohman families shortcomings of the American Dream.
As the trials and tribulations of Willy Loman unfold, the Loman family is portrayed in an all-white world which introduces a new theme of racial inequality into the story for the first time ever.
Don’t miss your last opportunity to experience this gripping performance at the Hudson Theater before it closes on January 15.
Looking ahead, there are countless Broadway performances coming to stage this season that you will not want to miss such as Parade starring Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond, as well as Life of PI, the Olivier Award-winning adaptation of the best-selling novel.
