“For the dead and the living. We must bear witness.” — Elie Wiesel

January 27th marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp during World War II. Since its inception by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005,  January 27th is observed annually as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. People from all over the world come together on this day to honor, reflect and remember the six million jews, and non-jewish
victims who perished in the Holocaust.

Here are ways you can commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day this year:

Visit The Museum of Jewish Heritage

Attend an International Holocaust Remembrance Day concert at the Museum of Jewish Heritage featuring a string sextet from the Manhattan Chamber Players. The program will celebrate jewish music and culture while honoring all those that perished during the holocaust.
