Nestled in the Northwoods, LongHouse Reserve is a 16-acre hidden gem that serves the community with programs in art, wellness, and nature. Its sculpture garden features over 60 outdoor works from renowned artists like Williem de Kooning and Sui Jinguao. LongHouse Reserve encourages and inspires visitors of all ages to incorporate art and design into their lives, and empowers them to see and think in new ways.
Seal Spotting at Montauk State Park
Brown Harris Stevens Hamptons Managing Director Philip O’Connell enjoys seal watching when catching a break in Montauk. Believe it or not, the Hamptons is home to a fair share of seals. In Montauk State Park, on the north shore west of the Lighthouse, seals will frequently haul themselves up on the rocks or onto the shore to sunbathe and rest. The most common types of seals you may spot are harbor seals, grey seals, and harp seals.
The LVIS (Ladies Village Improvement Society of East Hampton) not only hosts one of the most beautiful gardens in the village, but it’s also home to an incredible thrift store where one can find designer duds by the dozen, along with an amazing selection of books, jewelry, and home furnishings. See for yourself at 95 Main Street in East Hampton. You may even spot BHS agent and Treasurer of the LVIS Landmarks Committee, Jeanne Hutson.
Held on Sagaponack Beach (lovingly known as Sagg Main) on Monday nights at 6 p.m., people (and sometimes, their pets) gather on the beach to dance, drum, and simply celebrate life. You may even catch Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman banging away on his bongos.
Much like LVIS, Hampton Flea Market is a bazaar with no shortage of designer clothes, furniture, and hand-crafted goods. The location changes, so be sure to follow them on social media for updates on where they’ll be next!
